Emotions in Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 14

Sattva (Goodness)

Peacefulness: Sattva is associated with a calm and tranquil state of mind.
Contentment: Those influenced by sattva experience inner satisfaction and contentment.
Clarity: Sattva brings clarity of thought and understanding, leading to wise decision-making.
Joy: Sattvic individuals experience genuine joy and happiness, irrespective of external circumstances.
Compassion: Sattvic individuals possess a compassionate and empathetic nature towards others.

Rajas (Passion)

Desire: Rajasic individuals are driven by desires and ambitions, seeking fulfillment through external means.
Restlessness: Rajas causes agitation and restlessness of the mind, leading to constant activity.
Attachment: Rajasic individuals become attached to the fruits of their actions and are motivated by personal gain.
Anger: The intense nature of rajas can lead to anger and frustration when desires are not fulfilled.
Competitiveness: Rajasic individuals often engage in competition and comparison with others.

Tamas (Ignorance)

Ignorance: Tamas is associated with a state of darkness and ignorance, clouding the mind with delusion.
Laziness: Tamasic individuals lack motivation and energy, often succumbing to inertia and laziness.
Confusion: Tamas causes confusion and bewilderment, making it difficult to discern right from wrong.
Delusion: Those influenced by tamas are prone to delusion and self-deception, unable to see things clearly.
Apathy: Tamasic individuals exhibit apathy and indifference towards spiritual growth and self-improvement.
